LNG export terminal near Lake Charles Announced

Live Oak LNG announced plans on Feb. 3 to invest $2 billion for a liquefaction facility and liquefied natural gas (LNG) export terminal near Lake Charles. Live Oak LNG will begin the permitting process within the next few weeks. According to the Live Oak press release, the project is being designed for "a plant capacity of up to five million tonnes per annum production and will include two 130,000 m3 storage tanks, and port facilities with a jetty for standard size LNG carriers." The plant's anticipated start-up date is late 2019.
