Louisiana Legislative Update 2017 | Alt Fuel Tax Credits

SB 243 by Senator Peacock

Via Randy Hayden, representing the Louisiana Propane Gas Association:

Louisiana SB 243 by Senator Peacock prevents the alternative fuel vehicle tax credit from going back up to 50% (beginning in 2018) and further reduces it from the current 36% to 30%. The bill also requires that a vehicle that was purchased under the tax credit program remain in Louisiana for four years.

The Legislature established the alternative fuel vehicle program in 2009 to: help clean the air, reduce America’s dependence on foreign oil, and help grow Louisiana specific industries.

This bill is scheduled for debate on the floor, Monday, June 5th.
