Texas Clean School Bus Program

A Program of the Texas Emissions Reduction Plan (TERP)

The TCEQ has recieved requestss for funding in excess of the Fiscal Year (FY) 2018 appropriation of $3,094,795.00. Applications may still be submitted but will not be considered for funding until after August 31, 2018 in FY 2019. Applications must be recieved at the front desk, Rm. 1301, 1st floor of Building F on the premises of the TCEQ by no later than 5:00 p.m. CT, April 26, 2019. 

Funds Available (FY 2018/2019): $6,189,590.00

Funds Requested as of March 5, 2018: $7,062,500.00

Funds Awarded as of March 5, 2018: $2,203,500.00

The Texas Eductions Agency reports that more than 40 percent of the school buses in local fleets are more than 10 years old. In the years since these vehicles were purchased, several advancements in vehicle and engine technology have helped reduce emissions from school buses, which helps reduce air pollution.
