Forbes: UPS to Benefit from Fleet Running on Alternative Fuel

UPS, a national logistics service provider, announced that the company plans to purchase 1,000 propane fueled delivery trucks.  The new trucks will replace the gasoline and diesel fueled trucks that are being used in rural areas in Louisiana and Oklahoma. 

The logistics company also plans to support propane infrastructure by installing 50 fueling stations at UPS locations.  The overall cost of the investment for the project is estimated to be around $70 million.  The project is expected to begin by mid-2014 and should be completed by next year.  UPS stated that their reasoning behind this project is fuel emissions reduction and cost benefits from their fleet operations.
