By building strong partnerships and delivering practical, real-world solutions, LCF helps Louisiana businesses and communities lead the way in clean, sustainable transportation.

Our Mission

The mission of Louisiana Clean Fuels, Inc. is to advance the nation’s environmental, economic, and energy security by supporting local actions to diversify transportation fuel options. LCF strives to achieve its goals by employing a variety of strategies which include: promoting and implementing the use of domestically produced fuels, alternative fuel vehicles, increased fuel economy, hybrid vehicles, and idle reduction technologies.

Our History

Louisiana Clean Fuels (LCF) was established in 1997 as an affiliate of the United States Department of Energy (DOE) Clean Cities and Communities program and received designation April 11, 2000. Formerly the Greater Baton Rouge Clean Cities Coalition, LCF expanded in 2013 to cover 56 parishes. Our territory covers all of Louisiana except for those parishes covered by our sister organization, Southeast Louisiana Clean Fuel Partnership, namely: Jefferson, Orleans, Plaquemines, St. Bernard, St. Tammany, St. Charles, St. John the Baptist, and Tangipahoa.

About Clean Cities and Communities

Clean Cities and Communities is a U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) partnership that fosters collaboration andinnovation to advance transportation energy choices nationwide. More than 75 DOE-designated Clean Cities and Communities coalitions work in urban, suburban, and rural areas to deliver objectivetechnical expertise based on a unique understanding of local markets. As partners with DOE’s Vehicle Technologies Office, coalitions build bridges between national priorities and local needs to create transportation energy systems that are affordable, reliable, and secure. DOE established the partnership in 1993 with 6 coalitions, and now the partnership includes nearly 20,000 stakeholders and collectively covers 93% of the U.S. population. Together, coalitions create compounding impacts nationwide that support locally driven energy choices and benefit regional economic development and job growth.
