Road closures for pop music magnate Taylor Swift’s concert Friday forced the Louisiana Alternative Fuels Conference & Expo to find an, uh, alternative site.

The conference, set for 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Friday, will be held at the Capitol Park Welcome Center, 702 N. River Road. The conference was to be held at the LSU Energy, Coast & Environment Building, but the concert limited on-campus parking and closed some roads.

“This is why we have a Plan B,” said Lauren Lambert-Tompkins, Louisiana Clean Fuels event organizer. “We’re following the same agenda, set for the same time, but just moving down the road.”

Fleet managers and alternative fuels experts from around the state and across the country are expected to attend the free one-day conference on the benefits of alternative fuels in transportation.
