Program offers fleets the opportunity to lease CNG trucks for the same price as a diesel vehicle rental

Did you know that Natural Gas (CNG) is just $1.99 in Baton Rouge with some Louisiana stations selling CNG for as low as $1.63 at the pump? The CHEAPEST we've seen diesel in Baton Rouge right now is $2.09.
While diesel prices can (and do) fluctuate drastically, the cost of CNG hasn't changed much at all over the last several years. If you would like to take control of your fuel costs for your fleet, natural gas is a great option.
Penske Truck Leasing will be joining fleets at the Louisiana Clean Fuels Odyssey Day celebration this year to discuss their partnership program with the US Department of Energy to allow fleets to “try out” a heavy duty compressed natural gas vehicle at the same price as a diesel vehicle rental. This program offers a natural gas vehicle at a fraction of the price of traditional rentals, minimizing cost to fleets and allowing them to truly try out this vehicle without risk. Penske’s Baton Rouge location will provide support to fleets on how and where to fuel as well as key features they need to be aware of with a natural gas vehicle.
- Penske CNG Truck Specifications: The vehicle available for demo in Baton Rouge is the 2015 Freightliner Cascadia, ISX12G, 400HP, Allison 6 speed auto
- PENSKE Location: Baton Rouge, Louisiana - 6890 Pecue Lane, Baton Rouge, LA 70817
- Contact: Penske Baton Rouge, Phone: (225) 753-4600. Tell them you would like to rent a CNG vehicle as part of the DOE program.
Louisiana Clean Fuels invites you to join them at their Odyssey Day event at the Baton Rouge Community College’s new Automotive Technology Center on April 20, 2017. Penske Truck Leasing’s Manager of Alternative Fuels, Dean Stapelton, will provide a presentation on the program and will have a vehicle onsite with sign up forms available for fleets interested in renting the unit. This program provides a unique opportunity to fleets to try these vehicles out before committing long-term to them and assess how they can fit within their fleet—at no added cost than a traditional diesel unit.
At this free event, there will be alternative fuel vehicles on display, presentations on various alternative fuels and a cookout. There will also be a tour of BRCC’s automotive training center and important updates about tax credits and the VW Settlement.
Register online today! The event is free and open to the public. A complimentary lunchtime cookout is sponsored by Westport.
